More than ever, major environmental challenges need to be met as quickly as possible. Committing to the development of a circular economy that reduces waste and pollution and optimises the use of resources and energy is one of these challenges. This will help to combat climate change and the loss of biodiversity, and thus prevent the planet from exceeding its limits.
To make significant progress and accelerate the transition, it is important to involve all the stakeholders in the system.
There are a number of reasons for a cooperative approach to research and innovation in this field.
The progress to be made and the paradigm shifts to be promoted can no longer be achieved without the support of specialised and constantly renewed skills in fields as varied as recycling, low-carbon energy, biodiversity, economics and environmental law.
Collective funding of this expertise means that each member minimises the cost of access to knowledge and therefore optimises its research costs.
The development of the circular economy requires a consensus to be reached between all the partners involved, whose interests sometimes diverge.
The cooperative approach to issues is a tried and tested method within the network, which makes it easier to reach this consensus.
Our network is constantly creating new collaborations with scientific and technical teams to make the circular economy a reality by contributing new knowledge and innovative solutions.
Here too, the network structure provides the freedom needed for this type of cooperation.
RECORD is thus a twofold gathering. On the one hand, there are industrialists and public players who want to work together to tackle the major environmental challenges, including the development of the circular economy, and on the other, there are a large number of applied research structures, spread across the whole of France, who are determined to contribute to the success of original and ambitious programmes. In both cases, the list is not closed.
Any company interested by RECORD's objectives and activities may apply for membership by sending a letter to the President of RECORD. Each application for membership is examined by the Board of Directors.
For the current year, each active member pays an annual subscription of €38,500, which enables the collective funding of work and gives access to all actions and studies. There is also a partner member status. This status is reserved for subsidiaries of active members and smaller organisations, and is available for an annual membership fee of €9,900.
Membership of the association is eligible for the Research Tax Credit as part of technology watch expenditure.
