Against a backdrop of dwindling resources and growing tensions over supply, Recycled Raw Materials (RRM), particularly metallic materials, represent a strategic lever for strengthening national and European sovereignty, promoting the decarbonisation of industry and reducing its environmental and social impact. This dynamic is also being supported by changes in the regulatory framework, which are introducing new requirements in terms of sustainability and traceability.
In this context, tracking materials throughout their life cycle is becoming essential. That's why RECORD and its members are launching a study to explore the challenges and solutions involved in tracing materials, particularly those derived from recycling. The aim of this project is to draw up an inventory of existing systems, and then to identify methodologies suited to the traceability of recycled metal materials.
