Installation and operating costs of waste treatment and recovery units. Calculation guide and case studies

Summary

At a time when new industrial tools need to be developed to enable the deployment of the circular economy, particularly from the point of view of waste recovery, it is essential to be able to draw up preliminary technical and economic assessments for any investment project. To do this, it is necessary to have solid, up-to-date financial engineering data. This is what this work provides. Conceived as a genuine calculation guide, it can be used to construct preliminary outline projects (APS), thanks to the large amount of cost data (equipment, installation, operation, specific CO2 emissions, etc.) provided either in the form of reference cases or in the form of correlations. This work is illustrated by numerous numerical examples. Finally, the applicability of the data gathered is illustrated using the following 4 examples of units: waste sorting, composting, methanisation and incineration units.
