Water reuse – Methodological guidelines for reclamation solutions

Objectives

Water resources in the Member states of the European Union are subject to a growing imbalance between demand and availability, both temporally and geographically, creating numerous conflicts of use. Water reuse is a sector that could become one of the key solutions for providing a sustainable response to these problems. The aim of this project is therefore to draw up a methodological guide to help implement water reuse. The project also includes an assessment of the potential of reuse and an analysis of the regulations. Case studies will be used as support. The development of a methodological guide, combining technical and economic criteria with environmental and health impact criteria, should enable manufacturers and local authorities to facilitate these approaches, prioritise their actions and steer their technological choices towards the most appropriate solutions.
