companies are seeking to better define their impact on living organisms in
order to reduce it. To this end, a variety of approaches dedicated to
understanding the relationship between organisations and biodiversity are
emerging, including tools for measuring the biodiversity footprint.

The report is based on the existing body of research on natural capital tools and on interviews with experts. It is divided into three parts. The first describes recent regulatory developments concerning the measurement and reporting of the impacts of businesses and financial companies on biodiversity. The second provides an overview of existing tools that enable companies to better identify their links and impacts on living organisms. The last section presents the methodology used to build the decision support module.
