Summary

This exhaustive work lists and compares current methods for measuring the main pollutants (water and air). The report benefits from the expertise of its authors, and highlights the strengths and weaknesses of each technique, while not forgetting to mention good practice in their implementation. After a 1st generic part dealing with issues such as cumulative and continuous measurements, uncertainties, representativeness of results, etc., by family of methods, the report proposes practical sheets by "pollutants (or physico-chemical parameters)" which describe the methods that can be used according to different criteria (maturity, quality, whether or not self-monitoring is possible, etc.). 16 sheets concern pollutants discharged into the air. 54 sheets deal with "water" pollutants (or parameters).
