Summary

Waste-to-energy is becoming a more strategic environmental and economic issue by the day. This state of the art report presents the technologies for converting biomass from waste into electricity via anaerobic digestion or gasification. Internal combustion engine and gas turbine technologies are examined in detail. Given the specific nature of waste gases, particular attention has been paid to the pre-treatment of the gases.
